Extension: YouTube Skip Assist

Effective date: March 6, 2026

Summary

This extension does not collect, sell, or transfer personal data. It runs on YouTube pages to detect skip signals and chapter metadata, then seeks video playback accordingly.

Data Collected

No personal data is collected. The extension does not collect names, emails, account identifiers, browsing history outside YouTube, payment data, health data, or precise location.

The extension does read YouTube page content and metadata locally on www.youtube.com in order to detect supported skip actions such as Jump Ahead or clearly labeled ad chapters. This processing happens on-device and is not transmitted to the developer.

Data Stored

The extension uses chrome.storage.sync only to store user toggle preferences:

This settings data is used only for extension behavior and is not sent to the developer.

Sale or Transfer of Data

No data is sold, rented, licensed, or transferred to third parties for advertising, profiling, or monetization.

Network Access

The extension does not send analytics, telemetry, or tracking requests to developer-controlled servers. It only runs scripts on www.youtube.com and reacts to YouTube page data already loaded in the tab.

Third Parties

The extension interacts with YouTube pages as part of normal operation. YouTube's own policies apply to your use of YouTube.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if extension behavior changes. Updates will be published on this page.
